Adapting to Change...

Image
Daycare was closed this week and Jim was traveling for work -- so in short, that meant a busy week for Mommy.  But it also meant tons of Mama snuggle time (our favorite!). I had a few deadlines at work and we also have renters at our Cape house, so unfortunately we couldn't take a little vacation down there. I noticed the boys have been a little under the weather, too. They've been sneezing the past few days and they have little runny noses. They also weren't sleeping the same as usual -- but hopefully it's just a quick cold from the busy weekend we had. Thanks to Grammy and Grampa and Auntie Theresa, we made the week work. THANK YOU!!! My parents' neighbors have this hockey net in their driveway and boy did Caden and Conor love playing with the pucks! They walked down the driveway over to them, picked them up, and started beaming with excitement. So independent! We shared a couple smoothies this week too!! We are really into them. I made these when I was pr

Boston Boys!

On Saturday, Jim and I were fortunate enough to head to Fenway while Aunties Chrissy and Lindsey watched Conor and Caden overnight. We ventured into town around 1PM for a 4PM game. We did a private tour of Fenway with Jim's family (they had set it up months ago for a family reunion on his mother's side). We watched batting practice, got to keep the cool Red Sox gloves, and even got two children's gloves for Caden and Conor! Then we had a buffet dinner at Fenway - with unlimited beer/wine until the 7th inning of the game. It was SO much fun. Great day/night out. Oh, and we were in bed by 8:30PM. It was fantastic. The next day, we toured Charlestown with C&C- visiting Paul Revere Park, the Navy Yard, and the Bunker Hill Monument. See the Hyatt Harborside hotel behind us?!?!  It's where we got married!! Here's a shot of the Hyatt from our wedding night. :) Then we headed over to Foxboro to meet up with Tori and the Boschs. We had so much fun

Silly Summertime Fun!

Image
There is no real "deep" meaning behind this post nor anything I am trying to convey through my computer screen. Rather, I simply wanted to document our fun, silly days outside this summer thus far -- either in my parent's yard or on the beach down in the Cape.   As I've said since these two little men were newborns, C and C love outside. They are the happiest outdoors so we try and spend as much time outside as possible. For example, we love the SLIDE! Conor actually loves walking up the slide and then sliding down crashing into Caden. Caden loves the sliding part (who doesn't??) and finds it entertaining when Conor crashes into him. Con left and Cay right in the following two sets of photos. Conor is super nervy and Caden loves it. Here's Caden walking towards Conor who is chillin on the bench waiting for Caden to walk over to him (yup, totally typical Con-man, relaxing). Sometimes when either of them walk or crawl towards the other one --

Time DON'T slow down....(yes, you read that right)

The inspiration for this post came from an article by "Boston Moms Blog". I read it and immediately could relate. People are always telling time to "slow down" in regards to their kids growing up. Or, people always say their children grew up in a blink of an eye. They can't believe how quickly it went. And yes, while there are many days that I would love to just stop time (like the Fourth of July trip and the boys playing on the beach), there were a lot of days that I wanted time to hurry up because I felt like I was sinking fast (like when the boys were weeks old and Caden was colic). The Boston Moms Blog post made an impression on me when they said, "We have good days and we have bad days. Luckily, the clock keeps ticking either way."   Conor and Caden turned fourteen months old on July 6th and I realized they are indeed growing very fast. They are learning, advancing, and playing more and more together every single day -- and they a

A Berry Fun Weekend!

Life's a beach.........   My cousin, Jodie and her four kids, Jason, Kelsie, Kayla, and Jared came down to the Cape house this weekend. While it was unreal with all 6 kids together - it was SO much fun. They all loved playing together and making fun memories on the Cape! Jodie, Chrissy, and I spent so many summers playing together in Cape Cod. It was nice for children to do the same...even for a quick weekend.   Quick Phelan family photos in the ocean. Photo cred - Lindsey! Mama has Caden and Daddy has Conor. No diapers in this top photo - nothing a little cropping doesn't fix. ;)   Action shot! They loved it. And Keyes Beach is nice and shallow with a fun little sandbar - so it's perfect for children. It's open to the public, but we love how small it is...like a hidden gem.   Me and my Godson, Jared! He LOVED the water. We brought a plastic blue pool to the beach for the babies to play in and he loved splashing around. When we got bac

Happy 5 Years...7/10/10!

Happy FIFTH anniversary, Jim!!! I can't believe it's been 5 years. We have had so much happen over the last 13 years together -- between cross country moves, having children, and changing jobs. So many things have evolved, but I'm so glad you have remained my constant. I love you! "When I think about you I think about 17 I think about my old Jeep I think about the stars in the sky Funny how a melody sounds like a memory Like a soundtrack to a July Saturday nigh." - Eric Church Of course, no anniversary post is complete without a few pics to relive the day 5 years ago. If you're really interested, here's our full archive post from our photographer, Corey's website.   Here's my Dad walking me down the aisle... And Jim and I greeting our guests after the ceremony . A bit relieved that the hardest part was over... One of our favorite shots of us and the Boston skyline at the Hyatt. A quick precious moment before hea
