Keeping up with Conor Caden and Cal

Image
Life has been busy! Trying to keep the boys busy while managing both the house and my job, as well as Jim's job hasn't been easy but it's been fun and memorable. I have really enjoyed seeing the things the boys know - and doing different things with their teachers and classes. Here are a few highlights of our days over the last week or so. Our plants are really growing! Caden and Conor often still end up in the same bed at night. We made "slush" the other night - yup, slush....for the kids. And frozen margaritas for Mom and Dad! Hehe We went on an awesome family walk the other night when it was real warm out. We went back to the Rag Rock area - and the kids were great. We've been checking our plants and watering them daily. We have sunflowers, arugula, basil, rosemary, chives and lavender all planted and ready to go! Looking forward to spring. Dad set up his "computer lab". The boys have been

Egg Craft Project Idea!!

I found this super cute craft idea you can do with kids today or this weekend in preparation for Easter. I cannot believe that Easter is in two days - I am definitely not prepared. But anyway, I found a cute craft online and tried it with the boys! It was easy and different. DIY: Salt Dough Easter Eggs Supply List – batch of salt dough (see below) – rolling pin – egg shape cutter – spatula – straw, for making holes – parchment-paper or foil to cover baking sheets – spray or acrylic paint – paint /paint pens, optional – twine, ribbon Mix up your favorite salt dough recipe. Example: 1 cup flour 1/2 cup salt 1/2 cup water Stir together until a dough forms. Kneading the dough a couple times can help make it smoother. Roll it out (I rolled mine to 1/4 inch thick) and used the "galaxy slime eggs" I wrote about in  a previous post  as a cookie-cutter design shape and size. After I made the eggs, I placed them on the cookie sheet and used a straw to make little hol

You guys NEED to make this dessert tonight.  It is the most decadent, amazing dessert ever. It was so simple - only 6 ingredients and maybe 15 minutes. So first take a muffin tin, or ramekins if you have them and spray with pam.  Then coat them with some cocoa powder to prevent the cakes from sticking.  Once that is done, start your mixtures.  You will need three different bowls.   In the first bowl, melt a stick of butter and 6 oz of chocolate morsels. That is about half a bag. Once that is mixed all smooth, work on your dry ingredients. In the second bowl mix 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, 1/8 tsp salt and sift that together.  In the third bowl, mix 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks - whisk those together.  Then put all three together and pour into your ramekins or muffin pan!   Bake at 425 for 8-10 min and serve immediately.   I honestly had one the following day and it was still delicious, so do whatever you want! Consistency was pretty thick - t
